First of all nice movie you posted there Wurzagg. Everyone should watch that because you ll get a lot of info out of it.

As a tank it is very important to know what your strengths and weaknesses are. As a bear you are weaker in getting aggro then other tanks. So you need more time to build aggro. As a result you are better in tanking bosses then in picking up adds during a boss fight. Another weakness of the bear is that we dont have such a high defense or parry. This means that we are in a disadvantage for tanking spellcasters.
Ofcourse we have some nice skills for making up with these weaknesses. So with the right usage of your skills and with decent gear we make up for these weaknesses. We bears do have a larger health pool then other tanks. So when you are enchanting and gemming it has no use for getting defense or armor ratings. The way for a druid to go is HP.

My gear with enchants and gems:
http://bladesedge-eu.warcrafter.net/Fichsto

As you ll notice i only have one agility gem. This one is only needed for activating my meta gem. For the weapon enchant i sincerely suggest the mongoose enchant cause it procs all the time and is really handy and there isnt really an enchant that boosts our hp.

It is also important not to only see to the gearscore of your gear. Before you equip something new you can better compare the stats between the gear first although i have to admit that for most gearitems higher lvl is mostly better. The only exception here are trinkets and weapons. For trinkets i highly recommend to take the ones with hp boosts and the same for weapons. It is also really hard to get nice rings or necklaces. So far rings with defense, shield block and parry (which are actually really useless to us) are the best for us cause they give higher hp.

Now that you know my opinion about gear, gems and enchants, we go on to the rotation.

Before we really start about rotation and action bars I am going to tell you that i actually use macros for attacking which makes things a lot easier. Naturally I will reveal these macros to you :p.
First macro: Swipe
/cast Swipe (Bear)
/cast Maul
Second macro: Lacerate
/cast Lacerate
/cast Maul
Third macro: Mangle
/cast Mangle (Bear)
/cast Maul
Fourth macro: Rescue
#showtooltip survival instincts
/cast barkskin
/cast survival instincts
/cast frenzied regeneration

As you see the first three macros I use are the normal attack but combined with maul so you dont have to spam the maul button anymore.
The last macro is for when you are low on hp. You also can put /use (name trinket) in it for extra dmg mitigation or /use Indestructible Potion for extra armor. Ofcourse i do these things and your healers will be thankfull if you do it because what this trinket actually does is: give you a bigger health pool, do a hp regeneration and give you extra armor. So if you use a trinket and a potion you even get more dmg mitigation.

Now you know my macros i can tell how my action bars look. Btw for tanking I use keybindings most of the keys are on numlock
On action bar 1 i have (in order they are on my bar):
- Faerie Fire (feral)  => 1
- Swipe macro  => 2
- Lacerate macro => 3
- Mangle macro => 4
- Enrage  => 5
- Growl  => 6
- Challenging Roar  => 7
- Berserk  => 8
- Nothing
- Indestructible Potion  => à
- Barkskin => -
- Low health macro  => =

I have put Barkskin and Indestructible potion also in my action bar although they are also in my low health macro. The reason for this is simple. The macro has a 3min cooldown and barkskin only one min so I can use it faster again if necessary. The Potion is out of laziness cause i always want to see how many i still have left :p.

On my 2nd action bar i put:
- Rebirth
- Gift of the wild
- Mark of the wild
- Innervate
- Bash
- Feral Charge
- Demoralizing roar

Here you can see how my action bars look like. If you have any other question about ui just ask me in game or reply in this topic.

Before we talk about rotation and tanking you probably should know which add-ons i think you have use for tanking. This is omen for knowing the threat you generate and needtoknow for knowing which debuffs the target has from you (I ll come back to this later). grid because it is really handy to know which member has which debuff and other info it can give you like incoming heals.

One more thing before I start with explaning tanking itself. Very important is when you tank you have to have Rage. Never tank if you dont have rage and your enrage move is on CD.

Well I think I can start with how to tank.

Some basic rules
You always need to be aware wheter you are going to tank some melee type mobs or going to tank caster types. When you are tanking caster types you cant pull so you should run in with feral charge and tank there. When you are tanking melee types you can pull them and i strongly recommend you to use Faerie Fire to pull because this is a high threat move and you can save your taunt moves.

We bears have two taunts: growl and challenging roar. Dont use Growl to pull; this move should be saved if you lose aggro on a mob then you can quickly taunt him back before any serious dmg happened. Challenging Roar is just handy when you are in a group of mobs to keep the aggro when you are losing it.

Never forget when you are OT that you have really handy spells at your disposal like innervate and rebirth. If you have some time you can innervate a healer so their mana gets back up and rebirth for getting someone important up.

Tanking mobs

Basically you just use the swipe macro and the Mangle. You ll notice that Mangle has a CD so just spam Swipe till Mangle is possible.Other attacks should not be necessary.

Tanking single targets
Here you have the difference between bosses and just a mob.
When you are tanking a boss or a mob which take long you ll want to put your 4 debuffs on him all the time. Here is where the add-on needtoknow comes in. In needtoknow you can just put all your debuffs in that you want to check on the boss. These debuffs are Lacerate, Mangle, Faerie Fire and Infected Wounds. This will also have a positive effect on your DPS. So what i do is I taunt with Faerie Fire, then use a Mangle and get my 5 lacerate debuffs up. Once you have put these debuffs up the rotation is quite easy. You just push Faerie Fire, Mangle, Lacerate and the spam Swipe till Faerie Fire's CD has run out and then you just start with Faerie Fire again and go to Mangle and Lacerate. When you have aggro and enough enrage dont be afraid to cast your berserk. When you have done this you just spam the mangle macro. After you do need to put up your debuffs again. The Swipe on single targets is only used for threat. Swipe is a high threat generating move and so should be choosed when your debuffs are up for spamming.
For easy single target mobs you just use Faerie Fire to pull and then you just spam lacerate and use mangle when possible.
Note that I am always talking about my macro moves.

A lot off ppl also like to throw demoralizing roar in their rotations but i really dont give priority to it.

Of course you also need a talent bar and glyphs.
Well you have a lot of different talent bars you can use as a bear and i suggest you experiment a bit with it so you get what effects some talents have on you as a tank. After trying a lot of specs i use this one: http://bladesedge-eu.warcrafter.net/Fichsto. you can also see my glyphs here.

If you have any questions or remarks about this guide you can always post it here or just whisp me.

I hope this is really helpfull for ppl and I ll try to put some updates here everytime I find a better or easier way to tank

just saw this post and i´m a big fan of bear tanks i am 1 my self  and just wantet to point out that you have 2 gems that issent 30 stam gems no boots enchant ether 22 stam is the best there and your 2nd trinkes issent the best for druid tanks ether. i´d recomend the 126 stam trinked from toc 5 man normal untill you can get the dodge trinked from toc 10 or toc 10 hc. us druid tanks will only have our hp in icc since all will get a 20% dodge reduction so i´d recomend you get your hp to 55k+ buffed

i allso saw your macros and i think i´ll give em a go seams like good ones thaks for thows
